  • Pleasant Grove Church is located at the end of State Route U, six miles southeast of Macks Creek. The Cemetery is located to the right of and behind the Church. To the left of the Church is the Schoolhouse and a double outhouse facility; one side for boys and one side for girls. There is also a long "pot luck table set among the trees between the two buildings. I'm adding photos that were taken in 1998.

According to several sources, the first person buried there was a negro hobo and former slave who came to the Thomas Meads home and worked for his lodging. Thomas Meads paid for his burial and donated the ground for the cemetery. James Whitworth paid for the cemetery deed to be made. There are some graves that were moved, you might want to check out the Osage River Project.
